About SHARE Score
An open, community-governed framework for measuring data sharing quality across scientific repositories — built to incentivize, measure, and reward transparent research data practices.
ConductScience Foundation (501c3) · NIH Data Sharing Index Challenge Phase 2 Finalist
Our Mission
Research data repositories differ fundamentally in their metadata schemas, making it impossible to fairly compare datasets across platforms. SHARE Score solves this by defining 25 universal signals derived from FAIR principles, letting repositories map their fields via public pledges, and scoring all datasets against a single standard.
Governance
Modeled after the Linux Foundation, the ConductScience Foundation provides neutral fiscal and legal infrastructure while the SHARE project maintains its own governance council with an external majority. The Board oversees the Foundation; the Council governs the project; the Operations Team builds and maintains the platform.
